During recess, fourth and fifth grade students have been given the opportunity to exercise by running or walking. Mr. Kueper has set up a running and walking club, in which students can track laps and earn necklace charms for every 5 miles walked or run during recess. They even get a special glow-in-the-dark charm if they reach 25 miles. The program is completely optional, but many students like the opportunity to move their bodies and stay active. Fifth grade student, Caroline Kaminski, shared “I like to run and like to work towards getting more charms. It’s good for my body and keeps me busy during recess.”
If your child is interested in joining, encourage them to reach out to Mr. Kueper. Students are welcome to join at any time and participate any day they would like.
