Our fall book fair last week was a huge success!
Thanks to the generosity of the PTA every student was given an opportunity to choose a book to take home. We loved seeing our students’ excited faces when they learned they would get to take a book home to keep forever! As Mrs. McGinnis, LRC Specialist, said “It’s always wonderful to see the students’ faces light up when they find another way to enjoy the magic of books.” As she does every day, Mrs. McGinnis kicked off each class’s visit to the book fair by sharing her love of and enthusiasm for reading. Our students couldn’t wait to find their books!
Additionally, we are very thankful to the PTA and the 68 parents who volunteered to help the book fair run smoothly and support students by together finding great books. First grade student, Layla Kuraz, shared “I loved getting to shop for books at school. I even got one for free! I chose Puppy Diaries and Encanto.” Another first grade student came into LRC on the Monday after the book fair and with a big smile said, “Mrs. McGinnis! Last week the book fair was awesome! I loved it!”
