As part of the 4th grade historical fiction unit, the 4th grade team invited historical fiction and alternate fiction novel writer, Walter Hunt. Currently, the students are getting ready to write their own historical fiction stories. Students were given the chance to share their story ideas with the author, and then he gave resource recommendations and ideas for key details to focus on for their own story. He also reminded the students to be sure to fully research the timeframe and historical events that they plan to include in their stories. Finally, the author gave tips from experience related to handling writer’s block. We can’t wait to read the 4th grade historical fiction stories!
